Emily grew up on a sheep farm in Central Ohio where she was active in 4-H and FFA. After getting a BS in Ag Communication from Ohio State she went on to get a MS and PhD from the University of Florida in Agricultural Education with a specilization in Ag Commnication. As an award winning researcher, Dr. Buck looks at how images of agriculture in the media affect consumer perceptions and how online tools can be used to communicate about agriculture. As an award winning teacher she teaches courses in Web design, print design, magazine development, photography and communication theory. Off campus she helps on the family farm by raising Southdown sheep and helping her husband farm 1,000 acers. She is also very active in the Ohio Sheep Improvment Association and Farm Bureau. Her passions include photography and traveling the world.
